The Immunisation Advisory Centre (IMAC) has developed this training CD in PowerPoint format for health professionals. It provides detailed information relating to the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and the National HPV Immunisation Programme.

Learning Objectives for the Train the Trainer session

  • To understand the HPV Immunisation Programme and be competent to communicate the Programme to your client group
  • To describe HPV disease, including the specific epidemiology and understand the rationale for the HPV Programme
  • To ensure health care providers/vaccinators are aware of the priority target groups for this Programme in particular young Māori and Pacific women
  • To understand the aspects of service delivery relevant to the HPV Immunisation Programme
  • To be able to confidently answer FAQs relating to the HPV Programme
  • To be aware of the clinical trials for GARDASIL® and able to refer to these
  • To be familiar with the safety and efficacy of GARDASIL® vaccine, in particular the key clinical endpoints
